Salon
Strategies For Hard Times
How about some salon strategies for all the negative economic news we
continue to hear? And we can't let these doom and gloomers drain us of
our desire
not only to sustain our business but to make it even stronger. Here's
some simple strategies for strengthening your brand which is
something that we always want to work on but certainly in tough
economic times.
There'll be
businesses that close down
during times like these because their positioning wasn't that strong.
There'll be businesses that struggle now because all they've ever
been is order takers; they really never understood how to build a
business. And by order taker I mean a customer walks in and you give
them a cut or color and you never see them again. Ever ask yourself
why they didn't come back? It could be because of lacking one or
possibly all
these 3 salon strategies.
1. Take care of
your biggest
assets: We all must realize that our current customers are our
biggest assets. They pay our bills, they make our business possible
and we should not and can not take them for granted. We have to make
sure we meet and exceed their expectations. We need to go the extra
mile with them, providing them with such good services that they
wouldn't even think of changing to someone else. We need to pamper
and coddle them as well, and there are a number of ways to accomplish
this with them. If you want a inexpensive way to stand out in the
crowd and blow the minds of your customers send each and every one a
thank
you
card.
2. Take care of
your marketing:
Too many self-employed stylists don't understand how to properly
market themselves or their businesses. One of the easiest and most
productive ways is through referrals.
And I'm not talking about just
mentioning the word referral occasionally to your customers. You have
to be proactive in your approach to marketing ... remember your
success as a stylist rests totally on your ability to market yourself
- not just by how well you service your clients. Are you really good
at your profession? You better be, and if you are one of the many
that don't constantly pursue your best than you certainly need to
begin to do so now.
3. Take care of your list: (that's
your contact
information)
You do of course have an accurate list of
all your customers don't you? I mean you have their names and phone
numbers, addresses and possibly even their email addresses, right? If
you don't, how to you keep in contact with them? You must begin to
build your own list of your customers and if you want a template to
look at click the link above.
Oh, you don't
wait for them to contact
you do you? How's that working for you? Do you have slow periods and
vacant slots in your schedule? Wouldn't you like it to be as full as
you want it to be?
This is of
course just a small primer
of some of the things that you can implement right now to produce good
salon strategies for hard times. But most importantly is that you get
started to work on
your business and not just in
your business.
