About Bill
Bill has owned three small businesses and began to
learn just how important marketing was when he
owned a custom cabinet shop. He learned that making
a better product didn't guarantee that prospects would come
to him or even know about his shop, and that's when marketing
became a focal point. After doubling sales for three years
straight he began to love the marketing of products and
services more than building the product and closed his business.
Learning
is a Life Skill
Bill is on a constant pursuit of learning more about every phase of
marketing for the purpose of applying it to small businesses that don't
have a lot of money to work with. He studies direct marketing which
teaches the basic premise measureable results, meaning that you have to
test every ad you run to insure that you're getting a good ROI (return
on investment). Copywriting, as well as various marketing mediums is a
constant research topic for him including the psychological triggers
that all of us has when we buy a product or service and exactly what
makes a person want to come back to that business again and again.
Most just don't Know
Too many small businesses have no idea how to do this and they
absolutely waste thousands of dollars a year with yellow page ads that
look exactly like all the rest of the ads. Why do business owners do
this? Number one would be because they don't know how to market. Number
two would be because they're afraid to market so they take the easy way
out and use the yellow pages. Not only are they wasting money but there
is no way to know exactly how many people are coming in because of your
ad. Couple that with the one shot at writing of the ad for the yellow
pages and once you've written it you can't change a word of it until
next year ... if you're still in business!
What
about the Future?
Bill is really concerned about the new stylists that have less than 5
years of experience and wants to help them get established by teaching
solid marketing and customer service skills that will propel than
further than most stylists have ever been in record time. Six figures a
year is reality when you develop good strategies and implement them
into your business.
